JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, develops the knowledge and skills of Child Care Services.  Responsible for evaluating department needs and delivering a training plan.  This position is grant funded. Continuation of position is contingent upon the availability of grant funds.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Regular attendance at Employer's place of business and/or during particular hours, as assigned, is an essential function of this position.  Employee must comply with and follow YWCA’s attendance policy at all times, unless a reasonable accommodation is requested and granted, as required by law. 

  • Creates the agenda, modules, and any other training material.

  • Creates the training plan and evaluations. Keeps training attendance. Monitors employee performance in response to training.

  • Conducts training on computer programs such TWIST, Formstack, Database, and Cabinets.    

  • Conducts training on the data entry process, income calculations, time management skills, organizational skills, and case management.

  • Designs an effective training program that adheres to TWC, Workforce Solutions Borderplex, and YWCA policies and procedures.

  • Supports and mentors’ new employees.

  • Communicates with the Quality Assurance and Training Manager on identified data entry, income, and parent share of cost calculation errors.

  • Liaise with Eligibility supervisors to determine further training needs.

  • Prepares training material for developmental trainings.  

  • Maintaining an up-to-date and accurate record of trainee

  • Trains staff on changes and updates to the CCS Guide and WD Letters.

  • Schedules seminars, workshops, and certified courses.

  • Maintains expert-level knowledge in the Eligibility and Quality Assurance department.

  • Refines learning tools and techniques.

  • Participates in informational events as assigned.

  • Develops and conduct surveys to gauge the effectiveness of the program.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree or 60 credit hours’ college level course work.  One year of related experience may be substituted for 30 credit hours of college level course work.

  • Two (2) years’ experience as a trainer. 

  • Must have excellent presentation skills and be able to handle training program effectively.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Bilingual capabilities in English/Spanish preferred.

  • Must be well organized, analytical and have numerical skills.

  • Must be able to operate personal computer and be proficient in MS Office software and Outlook.

  • May be required to have access to a vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license and sufficient liability insurance.
