Job Summary
Under direct supervision, maintains the inventory items and fixed assets for the agency.  Responsible for taking physical inventory of all agency assets and maintaining and reconciling capital assets and depreciation schedules.

Key Responsibilities
Evaluate suppliers by considering price, quality, availability and other criteria.  Verify purchases by comparing them to a master list and recommending alternatives vendors for cost effectiveness.  Makes online purchases and maintains all supporting documents for purchases. Records inventory invoices and orders in the inventory database.  Records inventory sales in the inventory database.  Reconciles inventory accounts and inspects inventory periodically.  Updates and maintains computer inventory records to show current stock levels and usage order data.  Maintains complete agency catalog of supplies which can be ordered and distributed; provides copies of this catalog to managers on monthly basis, or as new line items are added.  Reconciles data in inventory database with general ledger in Accounting software.  Generates inventory reports periodically.  Ensures all purchases are in compliance with agency policies and procedures.  Coordinates all movement, receipt and tagging of agency fixed assets.   Generate all types of fixed asset reports and reconcile to the general ledger on monthly basis.  Responsible for inputting the additions and deletions of assets in the fixed asset system.  Take physical inventory of fixed assets annually. Capitalizes all agency assets over $1,000. Calculates depreciation and maintains depreciation schedules.  Assists the courier in picking up internal YWCA interoffice items if needed.   Safely operates agency delivery vehicle under specific and detailed instruction, ensuring YWCA policies and procedures for transportation are followed at all times.  Maintains logs of mileage, destination, fuel and pick-up and delivery times to and from YWCA locations.

Education
High School graduate or equivalent required; Associates Degree in accounting or related field preferred.

Experience
One (1) year experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or related clerical work is preferred.  Working knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and practices is preferred.  Must have working knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, methods and equipment.

Other Requirements
Must have access to a vehicle with required liability insurance and valid driver’s license.
