Brand Design Assistant

JOB SUMMARY: 
The Brand Design Assistant is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a company's brand strategy and online presence to ensure consistency and alignment with the organization's goals and values. This role involves collaborating with various teams to execute marketing initiatives and monitor brand performance. Ensures the brand is effectively communicated to the target audience, ultimately contributing to the organization's success in the marketplace. The position combines strong graphic design expertise with marketing support activities to create cohesive brand experiences across all channels. Works with the Marketing and Social Impact Director and Marketing and Communications Specialist to maintain a high standard of YWCA’s community reputation.   
- Supports team with coordinating, planning, and executing brand standards of the YWCA Paso Del Norte Region. 
- Brand Development Support: Create and refine the company's brand strategy, including defining brand guidelines, values, and positioning. Implement and evolve brand guidelines that define visual identity standards—including logo usage, typography, color palettes, imagery, and tone—to ensure consistency across all internal and external communications 
- Brand Messaging: Monitor brand messaging across all communication channels, ensuring that it aligns with the brand's voice and identity. 
- Visual Identity: Maintain consistent use of brand visuals, including logos, color schemes, typography, and imagery across online and offline materials under supervision and guidance. 
- Visual Communications Support: Design and deliver compelling visual content across digital and print platforms to support brand storytelling, marketing campaigns, and strategic communications, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and audience engagement 
- Brand Monitoring Support: Assets with monitoring and analyzing brand performance and perception, using tools and metrics to assess the impact of branding efforts. 
- Brand Compliance Support: Assist with ensuring all internal and external communications adhere to the established brand guidelines. 
- Administrative and Project Management: Manage design project timelines, organize creative assets and files, coordinate with external vendors, and maintain organized workflow systems for efficient project completion. 
- Marketing Collateral: Create, update, and manage marketing collateral such as brochures, flyers, advertisements, special event printed materials, and promotional materials to ensure brand consistency. 
- Web Content: Support website design updates, create web graphics and landing page elements, assist with user experience improvements, and ensure digital brand consistency across all online touchpoints. 
- Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including marketing, fundraising, and programs, to ensure brand alignment in all activities and initiatives. 
- Event Coordination: Coordinate branding efforts for community events, information fairs, fundraising and donor events, and promotional activities to maximize brand exposure. 
- Budget Management: Assist in managing the budget allocated for branding initiatives and campaigns. 
- Work closely with a graphic artist or Marketing & Social Impact Director to provide copy for design pieces, design/proof, and print Agency outreach materials. 
- Assists in writing and preparing and/or delivering information concerning the agency through newspapers, periodicals, television, radio, speeches and personal contacts. On call for situational media management as the need arises if supervisor is unavailable. 
- Becomes familiar with Agency accounting policies and procedures and assists in paperwork for and purchasing of items such as printed materials, promotional materials, etc. 
- Assists with client interviews and storytelling efforts. 
- Monitors the agency website to ensure it is current and regularly updated. 
- Assures compliance with YWCA of the USA Branding standards. 
- Maintains records including, activity reports, summary reports and continuity correspondence for Marketing and Communication 
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- One to three years of experience in graphic design, marketing, or related creative field. 
- Education in graphic design, marketing, visual communications, or related field preferred. 
- Willingness to embrace fast paced, high volume marketing needs of robust community agency. 
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite required (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Experience with Canva or other design platforms preferred. 
- Must be a self-starter and able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. 
- Ability to be an effective project manager; lead by example, kindness and empathy, with a “can-do” work ethic. 
- Must have excellent communication and customer service skills as well as an exceptional eye for detail. 
- Knowledge of social media platforms and best practices for visual content creation and engagement across various channels. 
- Strong writing and editing skills in English required. Spanish reading, writing and verbal communication skills a plus. 
- Excellent interpersonal skills required, with ability to interact at all levels in a respectful, professional manner. 
- Must be organized and flexible, with the ability to manage multiple assignments in a busy work environment. 
- Hands-on computer skills required, including experience working with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and Zoom. 
- Must have vehicle with required liability insurance and possess a valid driver’s license.
