Under general supervision, ensures the safety of patrons of an aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies and performs routine pool maintenance activities to ensure a safe, clean pool environment
High school degree or equivalent or be a minimum of 16 years of age enrolled in school with an active student status.
Must possess a nationally recognized life guard certification. Certification must remain current throughout employment with the YWCA.
Nationally recognized lifeguard certification. One-year lifeguard experience preferable, or any equivalent experience and/or training providing required knowledge, skills, abilities. Knowledge of water safety, pool chlorination and filtration systems. Excellent swimming skills. First Aid/CPR certified. Able to interact positively and communicate well. Able to analyze situations and make decisions. Good physical condition needed to lift/carry persons in water. Access to vehicle with required liability insurance and valid driver’s license when if performing duties at multiple locations.
